Peace and Power Dear Soul,
I pray this message finds you in a great mood as we slide into a nu week. For me, this weekend has been full of productivity and self care in community. I found it a bit challenging to get up and get after the day only to realize that I needed more rest. A big lesson I am allowing myself to process is that healing, and growing better each day also requires deep rest and time for integration.
To me, integration is the process of allowing my body, mind, thoughts and emotions to settle, slowly as I allow what ever changes I am undergoing to take place peacefully in divine time. There is no rushing deep rest and I am so fortunate to have co-created a sacred spaces with my home and with in my community which allow me to really veg out in between performances, gatherings and ceremonies.
Say YES to REST
When I feel tired, I let myself rest. When I need a moment of quiet time to calm down, I put on soft music and let my system unwind. This has been a practice of mine since I was a child. Thankfully, I have a Mother and Father who sewed wind-down time into our childhood. Rest is how I respect my system and respond to my own need for balance. As I rest, I gather so much insight and clarity on moves to come and because I rest when it calls, I enjoy the needed energy when it is time to rise and shine.
Rest is why I can be and fulfill more all while doing less. I heard a wise statement lately that has been ringing in my mind since. Self Confidence is the discipline to tend to your own needs. I resonate so deeply with this message because I know how good it feels to honor my promises to myself. It feels good to start and end my days doing what I say I am going to do for me. This practice allows me to tend to my life garden with great attention to detail without leaning or looking for another to do for me what I know I need and can do for myself.
It is quite simple really. As much as you may love another you can’t rest for them. You may be workout buddies but there is no way for you to do their reps on their behalf. I find when I keep that same energy about my self care practices, I feel so good, centered and stable in myself.
Sharing is Caring…
As a token of my appreciation for your presence and attention I’d like to share with you a few goodies that I find facilitate my integration, self care and deep rest.
When I need a moment to tune into and lighten my heart, I enjoy The Heart Center Meditation from the Abundaverse Chakra Meditations Album.
When I am in need of a wind down and self love session I enjoy listening to this yoga nidra for self love offering.
When I want to start my day with music, I enjoy the affirmation based grooves of Chris and Teeb :)
Stankh You for tuning in…
As always, I pray that a seed from my sharing can assist you in your own life garden. For those of you who will be in Savannah, Sunday Feb. 23rd 2025, I hope to see your face in the place as we gather for this months drum circle :)
