Peace and Power Dear Soul!
Thankh you for tuning in to this weeks dose of the remedy. Today’s offering includes and original song that I was blessed to share on the news! I met Mrs. Tina Tyus-Shaw back in June after performing and she was so kind to invite me to join her live for the Friday Wind Down segment. As my big smile suggests, I deeply enjoyed the experience and extend a super shout out to producer/engineer Eric L. Winbush for supporting this offering with accompaniment on the guitar.
Expansion
WSAV reaches over 315,000 households with their programing which equates to about 735,000 adults. I consider it a supreme blessing to have had the opportunity to share a bit of my story and sing Inner G into so many homes here in the low country. Many of you dear souls sent me texts and video footage of the segment as it made it’s way to your living room and I thankh you for your continued love and support.
The Song Story
Inner G came to me in the garden aka sanctuary as most of my creative urges do. I had just got off the phone with a loved one who shared with me the news of an unexpected passing of a young brother of his. He grew up with this brother, and I could tell he was still processing the shock of his sudden transition.
My heart ached as I sat in the garden alone, wondering what do I say? What comfort can I offer when someone I love is captured by the reality that someone they love has passed through the doorway of death.
Most High is always listening and responded to my inner quest with a strong breeze and a lullaby melody that tearfully made its way to my heart and through my voice. I recorded the voice memo on my phone to capture the raw flow as it rushed in.
“Inner G won’t ever die, Inner G don’t never die, Inner G will never die, Transform”
The verses, bridge and chorus all came to me while I sat in the sanctuary.
I later went to the studio to record the scratch vocals with Winbush to add this transmission to the collection of goodies already on the remedy album. And that is were it sat for 4 years awaiting the perfect time to be shared with more dear souls like you.
The First Dose
Earlier this year I was presented with the opportunity to perform during the Tedx Savannah experience. Over lunch with Winbush, we decided that inner g would be a great offering. When we arrived to pitch the song to the coaching team, we were met with tears from one of the coaches who confirmed that a loved one had passed unexpectedly the week prior. She expressed that the song really touched her heart.
A few days later, while Winbush and I refined the acoustic version of the song, he received a phone call to the studio with a woman frantically exclaiming the sudden passing of Savannah’s very own DJ Racks.
As I sat in the desk, I accepted these painful synchronicities as confirmation that it was indeed time for Inner G to bless others.
Solidarity
I sing this song from my heart as I stand in solidarity with you dear soul. We all know a loved one who has made the journey through the doorway of death. We all know that it is a journey that we all are due to make when our time for transformation comes. I pray that what Most High has revealed to me through this song will comfort and uplift you.
There is so much in a name.
You may be wondering why I chose to spell the title of this song in such a way. I felt this spelling could be a way to remind all dear souls to trust the inner guidance and to honor the inner connection we have to the source energy we call GOD. In my journey, I have found this practice to be challenging yet also resplendent with confirmations that life is eternal and this source inner g we have within never leaves, never forsakes, and no matter how the cards may appear to fall, this source inner g never dies. It is my prayer that Inner G can bless you in the remembrance that the essence of who we truly be can never die - perhaps with this in mind we all can grant ourselves permission to live life and do so more abundantly.
